I'm sooo wishing that we can take a vacation again soon..In April we went to New Jersey, Philadelphia, Missouri and Hawaii....I hadn't been back to Hawaii in many many years...It's a beautiful (but expensive) place! My girlfriend just got back from a cruise to the Bahama's and looking at her photo's just gave me that itch to travel..which is so weird because until April of this year, I was scared to death of traveling...I would hyperventilate just flying to Guam...and now that I have conquered that fear I find myself daydreaming of all the places I want to go...My choices for next vacation Seattle, Palau, American Samoa or Bali...it all depends on how much time we can get and how much money we can save up...who knows...all I know is I have island fever and I want to go...and soon!

Enjoyed your link to bad quotes. Your daughter seems to have the makings of an excellent coastie. I tried to get in, but I was too fat,at the time. Bah.. Might have missed some good small boat handling experience. Still, the merchant marine allowed me to shoot an automatic weapon, which is all I ever wanted anyway.
All I wanted was a gun and a small boat, I ended up with a sixty thousand ton ship loaded with tanks. Go figure.
Thats funny, my daughter had to loose a few lbs. to get in and struggled with the sit ups in basic..but she didn't give up and finally made it..her favorite part of basic was shooting the weapons..scared me a bit there when she called home and told me she wanted to be a gunners mate because she loved shooting so much..yikes!...now all she wants to do is learn how to drive the boats....guns and boats make her happy..ha ha...
