Savali gets inducted...

Yep, yep! My Baby made it!!!! Savali was inducted into the NJHS today! It was a very nice ceremony with the keynote speech given by the Principal of KHS, Mr. Alfred Ada. The Principal of Savali's school Chacha Ocean view Jr. High also gave a short speech in which he joked that he had seen a couple of the inductee's in the office, especially the boy on the end (my son) ..he laughed and said, "like mother like son, his mom was always in the office too!" ha ha..He was joking of course...the principal, Ben Dela Cruz was my classmate in school. He was a comedian then and he still is...

I'm so proud of my boy..He's an awesome kid!!!!!
Here we are with my mom (G'ma) outside the Kagman Community Center, which by the way is a very nice community center!!

I SUPPORT THE PARK!

http://jetapplicant.blogspot.com/2008/03/do-you-support-park.html

AND I HOPE YOU WILL TOO!

HOUSEKEEPER

After a lot of thought and discussion, we have decided we simply can not renew our housekeeper for another year. First and foremost, the minimum wage increase in May will add an additional burden on our already mounting pile of bills. Secondly, I haven't really needed a housekeeper for awhile now. My kids are pretty grown up and able to do most chores on their own and when they are not with me, they are usually at their dad's. Thirdly, should we decide to move to a smaller more economical place (which we have been thinking about...kinda) we wouldn't be able to if we renewed her because she needs her own bedroom, which is why we have remained in the four bedroom house we are currently in. And Lastly, T is having a tuff time in the CG and may....may be coming home soon...Soooo, it was with a heavy heart that I had to explain all these things to her and advise her that I will not be renewing her permit. I will however, allow her to seek an administrative transfer and we have began the paper work necessary for that to happen.

My housekeeper has been with me for 6 years now and has done a good job for me. She is very good with the kids and has been of great assistance to me especially with regards to my youngest girl whom she has taken care of since she was 4. She is a very honest lady to the point where if she finds even a nickle in the dryer or under the couch, she makes sure to put it on the counter for me or give it to me when I get home.. She would really be an asset to anyone who may need a housekeeper or care taker for their children.

Anyway, the main point of my post is to find out if there is anyone out there in Blogger land who may need the services of a housekeeper. If so, please do let me know. You can reach me at Moylan's Insurance. I would be glad to set up an appointment for you to meet with her and speak with her to find out if she would suit your needs. We would really like to find a new employer within the next 30 days.

Please do let me know if your interested!

Thanks!

My latest obsession

Card Making.
I've always wanted to learn Scrap booking, Stamping and card making, but never really had the time. A couple months ago I picked up a scrap booking kit at YCO and ended up making a really cute scrapbook for my grandfather. It was a lot easier than I thought and I found I had plenty of spare time to do it (as long as I stopped watching George Lopez and CSI every night =) I really enjoyed making the scrapbook so I went back to YCO and found some really cute card making supplies too..I picked some things up and stopped by Expressions and picked up a few things there and I was off...Expressions has soooo many cool stamps and stickers and papers and just everything...My head was getting dizzy in there trying to decide what to get...(I know what your thinking mom, "your head is always dizzy"...ha ha ha..not funny!) Anyway, where was I..Oh yes, so I purchased what I thought I would need to get started (card stock, different papers, some stickers and a glue stick). I really want to learn how to stamp so I can get more creative, so I signed up for the next class at Expressions..I can't wait for that! In the meantime, Ive just been looking around the net for ideas and practicing...Here are a few of the cards I have made so far...

I don't think Hallmark has anything to worry about yet..ha ha...But I am having fun with it! Can't wait to learn how to stamp (and noooo T, I'm not getting old!!! I swear I'm not!)

Ps: sorry about the crummy pictures, I was kinda in a hurry...

Easter pix for "T"

The easiest way for my daughter to access pictures is via my blog so I'm posting some pictures from yesterday's festivities for her...Hope you all don't mind and I hope you enjoyed your Easter...now back to work!
Team BBQ.....(Are you sure those shishkabobs aren't burning while you pose for the camera?)

A house full of girls....

Everyone is patiently waiting for the eggs to be hidden...everyone except Brissa. By the look on her face she seems totally irritated that its taking so long..he he

Uncle Rob gives instructions to the eager egg hunters.

Try looking down Brandi..you will find more eggs!

Vali took the pictures during the hunt. Which explains why we have no clue who found this egg..ha ha

Arro's first Easter Egg hunt and she's doing awesome!

Arro hits the jackpot!

Nana's homemade Easter egg pinata. We dubbed it the "Grateful Dead Easter Egg" he he

The spread! Yum!

Tickleeeeeeeeeeeee Fightttttttttttttttttt!
When asked her overall opinion of the Easter party, Brissa gave the "thumbs up" and exclaimed "IT ROCKED!" ...ok, maybe what she said sounded more like "ITOKE" but that translates to "IT ROCKED!" = ) ~

The grafitti on my bumper reads " Coconut tree wuz hea!"

Good Friday turned out to be a GREAT Friday after all...

I woke up early and started putting together the Easter prizes for the egg hunt on Sunday.
Then I headed out to drop my housekeeper at her Friends house. Out of the blue, this coconut tree jumped right behind me...

and left a little gift on my bumper...OUCH! Actually...I was driving my daughter's car, so it left a little gift on "her" bumper..ha ha (No worries T, I will get it fixed.again...)

Just when I thought my day was ruined by my little accident, I caught these people walking up San Vicente and thought to myself, "I'd much rather be in a slightly dented, air conditioned car then carrying a 20lb cross up a hill barefooted, in the rain." I admire their perseverance and dedication.

I took the kids and headed to Java Joes to have a much needed Cafe Mocha while the newly dented car got a good cleaning inside and out. I figured maybe Ulu wouldn't notice the dent if it was clean???? Maybe? Probably not..Mirika obviously was not in the mood for photos.

This is where I have my cars cleaned...they do a FABULOUS job and they only charge $10 for inside and outside. They are conveniently located right next to Java Joe's so you can have a cup of coffee and a bagel while you wait..

After breakfast we got some shopping in. I found cute set of Mason Jars at National Office Supply...Ever since Deece blogged about her Mango Jam I've been wanting to try making jam so I bought them.

After shopping I headed home to try out my Mason Jars. I decided on a peach Jam since I had all the ingredients as well as an easy recipe I Googled.

I sterilized the jars as instructed.
and I boiled the final product for 15 minutes..which seemed kinda weird to me, but that's what the recipe said to do..I will let you know (In another post) how it turned out...

While I jammed, Savali had target practice with my bb gun and shot at a dummy he drew on a box called "x"..he he.He did pretty well!! Shot "x" in the head and heart several times.

Mirika and Nashia were playing "Addicting games" on the Internet.

And Rachel Ray was grilling up some finger steaks..

For dinner we decided to head down to the all you can eat Seafood Buffet at the Fiesta Resort.

But not before we got in some play time...ping pong anyone?

Pool by the pool...he he

Go Mirika!

Vali was so into his game.

After a couple of games, I knew it was time to eat cause Vali n Ulu were starting to act strange.

and for some reason, couldn't keep their feet on the ground...

The seafood was off the hook! DELICIOUS!!

I call this photo "The AFTERMATH" = )

Ahhh....another GORGEOUS day...dented car and all!
